How Ibogaine Detox Treatment Overcomes Drug Addictions

By Donald Wright

The over dependency on opiate substances by adults and teenagers has led to the increase in deaths across many states. The era of drug addiction of both illegal and prescription drugs keeps increasing and having adverse effects too. Fortunately, with treatments such as Ibogaine Detox Treatment, many individuals have been able to quite their dependency and regain a better life.

The substance called Ibogaine is derived from a native plant known as Iboga in extract form. The substance is administered to patients who have an addiction problem as it works by resetting the receptors in the brain of the addict to stop the dependency on the particular drug being abused. It also helps to flush away the drug from the body and remove the memories of drug dependency from the person.

The advantage of this treatment over the traditional way of treating drug addiction is that it allows the individual to experience the withdrawal symptoms and pain for a shorter while and he or she will be able to start a new life quickly. It is however advised that any individual having this substance administered to them should do so in the presence of a medical practitioner and in a hospital.

However, not everyone can use this substance. Before one gets to take the chemical, a full checkup should be done to determine if he or she is a candidate for it. People who have experienced strokes, pregnant, vascular diseases or any cardiac condition are not allowed to use it due to its effects on their health.

After determination of whether one is a candidate and it is approved, the administering of the chemical is done which later in a few hours, sets the person to be in a dreamlike state. It is in this situation that the individual gets to experience some past events which to some may come clearly while others may not. The events are meant for the person to understand the leading cause to the addiction and is known as the Acute or Awakened dream state.

The next step is where the patient wakes up and has time to reflect on the experience he or she has had in the first stage. This stage is known as introspective phase which can last for up to three days. The patient is allowed to recuperate physically and mentally as he or she reflect on everything. The person may also be tired and could spend most of the time lying down.

The third stage which is also known as the stimulation phase is where the individuals learns to have acceptance and learn on ways to live a better life. The person will go through some days of correct living as he or she learns to change and be better. With the help of a specialist, the individual will be able to practice on correct ways of life.

A therapy session is a mandatory step for the individual. This is because there may be a slight chance of the person going back to old habits or having a hard time changing to a new clean life. A certified therapist for this kind of situation is needed to guide the individual to the correct part preventing a relapse from happening.
