The Type Of High School Anxiety Programs Bergen County NJ That Immigrant Needed

By Gary Wright

The US population consists of 15% foreign-born residents and for those moving into the country, it may seem daunting especially for the youth members of the families. High school anxiety programs Bergen County NJ is made with the purpose to create a safe atmosphere for others due to her turmoil-ridden past full of poverty and abuse.

Scully s abusive and poverty-stricken past pushed her to create this program which welcomes foreign-born youth, undocumented youth, immigrants who have experienced domestic violence, homeless and unaccompanied minors whose parents have been deported and US citizen students with undocumented parents. Her direct link to the problems that immigrants faced has made her program a successful one.

The program mainly focuses on educational problems impacting these members of youth. The educational statistics in the states surrounding youth is shocking with only 54% of undocumented immigrants attaining their high school diploma whereas the national average lies at 82%. Of that 54%, only between 5-10% of these individuals make it into any form of higher education.

Students without limits mainly shine a light to the education program where they host a Dynamic After School workshops which consist of little family meetings and which are said to help keep track of these youth, provide confidential caring support and attorney led meetings where immigrants receive a more detailed information on the rights they have.

As mentioned above Students without limits is the only program listed on the first page of google. This can be accredited to the new immigration laws that are consuming America. The new laws make the need for these youth organizations more necessary than before. A good example of a youth immigration program that can be applied to help US immigrants is HEARTS (Help Each Asylum seeker and Refugee to Settle) in the city of Leeds in the United Kingdom.

Their multifaceted program allows for the full integration of youth immigrants between the ages of 14-21. They offer a wide variety of initiatives namely: advocate/ keyworker support, mentoring and peer mentoring, adjustment and prevention programs, and social and creative activities which promote participation and positive influencing between their members.

Their mentoring and peer programs bring an emotional aspect to their interactions with their members as they do not only help them with educational problems but also directly discuss issues that impact people within their age groups such as sexual, drug and alcohol awareness. They also try to help the members to assimilate within their new city by breaking cultural and language barriers which are something that is not always focused on. Their provision of legal professionals also keeps them aware of the rights and legal entitlements that they have.

Their mentoring and peer mentoring program is the best as it provides educational support, where members have access to people to assist them with difficult school material. The program also includes money management training, information about the UK culture and also highlights sexual, drugs and alcohol awareness. This helps address direct problems that the youth might be facing. With the new laws and developments in the States creating a safe space as the one HEARTS has formed is now more important than ever. No youth deserves to feel alone. All those are great examples of the morally highest American society that try to come out of the mug of the blind and selfish consumeristic ideology. As citizens of the greatest democracy of the world, all of us should really put some effort to make the next generation ready to lead the planet in the new millennia.
