Amongst children, you need not worry about it clawing them. This is because this cat has a tendency to paw rather than to claw when playing. There is therefore no perceived need to have this breed declawed if you own it.

The breed is also quite known for its longevity. Its average lifespan is anywhere from 15 years to 20 years. However, one can still extend the average lifespan by being more vigilant in keeping this cat indoors, so as to avoid untoward incidents and also the once in a while infectious disease.
