The horror game Outlast has two parts now, each never failing to scare the living daylights out of us. The first one, we have to go through a freaking asylum full of crazy people wanting to kill us. The second one is in Arizona where a group of fanatics kidnapped our wife because they thought she harboredSatan in her belly. Cultic thing sure are fun, huh? Note the sarcasm.
Resident Evil 7 Biohazard. Admit it, this beauty gave you just as much anxiety as Little Nightmares did. While we can fight back against the obviously terrifying boss enemies and their run of the mill Las Plagas like monsters, the real fact that they paced this in a way that got you thinking strategies was what got you.
And no, games are not just for kids. You think we advertise this to children when the demographic is obviously for teenagers and adults? Kids do not need something to distract themselves from stress and issues. They do that fine on their own. They are children, for Gods sake. They will find something by themselves.
South Park, the Fractured But Whole. You can laugh. They kind of made the title that way because they were not allowed to name in butthole. This game was also very highly anticipated since its first game The Stick of Truth. This one was derived and voiced over by the people in the same show South Park.
So we turn to games to make us momentarily forget. At least by then, when we have spent an hour on a good game, we can come back to work rejuvenated. Well, just a bit. Distraction can only take you so far.
