Getting The Required Pool Plaster Colors

By Ina Hunt

Pool plastering can be defined as the process of fitting a finishing surface. Due to the wide variety available choosing the ideal pool plaster colors to produce the best hue can be cumbersome. Before making a decision talk to a landscape and interior designer or the pool boy and get their views. This prevents you from making wrong decisions. There are many factors that can affect the decision you make and it is critical you stay informed about them.

Personal taste and preferences is the first consideration. Other factors to consider include what style you want to achieve, this is the overall effect. Affordability is in terms of the purchase power. Durability as an option should be considered. Functionality, whether it is more of a decorative feature or is going to be used more for swimming.

Most people oddly consider the landscape of their vicinity. It should work towards enhancing the interior decor of your home, and bring out the required ambiance. Geographical location of your home plays a vital role too. For hot or warm regions it is advisable to have a dark spa as it tends to cool temperatures. For cooler areas light colors tend to indulge warm and thus are recommended.

Pools are mainly associated with summertime. Depending on the lining used, they can be light or dark blue, some expose a green tint, others gray while others seem black. The finished color is affected by the amount of sunlight it receives and the time of day. Most pools seem to change color slightly as the day progresses. The design and depth may also affect its color. Its best to have one in between five feet as depth. Pool or spa surface can be rough or smooth.

There are different types of plaster surfaces. The white plaster is the oldest and most affordable of them all.Due to its affordability and classic look it remains the most favoured by the majority. It has a soft white finishing and reflects light thus inviting the light blue color to its waters. It is the hardest to maintain and wears off overtime thus changing its appearance due to wear and tear.To lengthen its life, silicon shield is normally mixed with the plaster surface.

The colored ceramics are more expensive and tend to be affected by the chemicals used.On the upper hand they are preferred to white surfaces as they provide an admirable, beautiful range of hues from light to deep blues, natural greens, a range of grays and even the formal black.

The pebble surface is the latest and consists of smooth tiny river pebbles. It provides different colors and has a natural feeling to it. Its most durable as the river pebbles are chemically inert and thus it does not change appearance overtime. Its also more textured and expensive. Note that Premix Marbletite Marquis a mixture of charcoal and Pewter. It is not a pebble surface.

Functionality plays a key role.In homes that host guests frequently around their yard, dark hues are charming as they set the tempo and mood of the event. Light colors are ideal for houses with toddlers as they minimise accidents, are easier to clean and are more visible.Light hues are thus best for regions frequented by frogs, snakes and other water creatures.
