Autism has become very common especially in the modern day and age whereby children are born with great struggles in developing relationships and even communicating. It is regarded a mental condition that manifests as early as when the child starts developing and such children have trouble understanding other peoples thoughts and behaviors as well as expressing themselves in social places. Therapies are meant to increase the abilities and the skills of the persons suffering from the condition by reducing the symptoms. This disorder is a lifelong condition therefore, it is significant that the persons affected go through a continuous therapy to improve their abilities. In as much as the person continuously improves his or her verbal communication and interaction it is important to continue with the therapy even if it means once in a while therapy sessions.

One of the major cause of this disorder is believed to be combinations of genes that runs in families which puts the child at risk of getting or being born with the disorder. Most researchers have proved that parental genes are one of those leading cause of autism however, some factors also contributes prevalently.

The subject may react to it and it is important for the therapist to note the reaction or the behavior of the individual. It is also imperative to note that there may be a reaction or no reaction at all especially in the early stages of rehabilitation whereby the environment is totally fresh to this person. Most of the programs associated with this therapy are structured and the skills targeted are based on an established curriculum.

In this account it is imperative to note that there is no standard cause of the condition that has been established. Exactly why the disorder occurs is not yet distinct however, some researchers propose that it may arise from defects in the brain that interpret sensual response and process language. This disorder is mostly associated with the brain thus reflecting onto behavior and interactions as well as communication.

Communication problem is also another difficulty that results due to the disorder and it can also be improved through verbal therapy. Most children start babbling by the age of one and when they are three they start saying two or three words, by distinction young children with the condition tend to delay in speaking and even babbling, they also have difficulties in learning different gestures as well using them.

In this account it is evident that the causes of the disorder are diverse and as mentioned above there is no one standard cause. Children develop this disorder and through different therapies they are able to improve their communication skills, interactions in addition to their behaviors. Autistic children are known to have a repetitive behavior based on what they have acquired and thus through the therapies they can acquire different and diverse behaviors.

It is important to note that there are other medical disorders associated with the disorder whereby therapy cannot work. Seizure disorders such as epilepsy is common to people with the condition. Sleep problems are also common among adolescents with the disorder this also affects adults.
