Some years ago, education was offered to the working class and the ones at the bottom of socioeconomic ladder were offered no former learning. Currently we are educating everyone including the poorest and disadvantaged and expect all to graduate. This shift compounded with the high poverty level shows the new paradigm shift that needs new policies to address the reality.

In the beginning of the century, student that were entitled to reduced-price or free meals constituted to about half of student structure in four states. In just a decade later, more than half of student in public school are living in poverty in 17 states. This century has seen a sharp increase of unemployed parents with jobs that cannot cater for basic goods and education.

The lessons have the ability to produce talents which are unique to individual learner while making learning to be enjoyable in the course. Math poses a challenge to schools in poor regions something that frustrates teachers hence students being the ones at disadvantage in comparison to their peers. Steps in standardization have consequently made molding of lesson to suit unique social cultures difficult.

Sidelining of the physical educations and recess has in turn posed a challenge to the well-being of students. This is because these two enhance the student capacity to focus and learn while on the other hand ensuring that the health of the student is healthy as it combats calamities such obesity and other lifestyle diseases.

There is a wider disparity of schools in poor regions and those from affluent regions. Most of these schools that are in poor regions have bigger class size, unmotivated teachers, and poor teaching facilities among other disadvantages. This is unlike those of well up areas that have well stocked libraries, medical attention, learning models and other goodies that makes the education system in the country to be unequal.

Parent involvement and way of life in homes help in predicting the achievements of a learner. Some guardians are very much involved in their children whereabouts while others do not seem to care. The need for active involvement acts as a sensible step since home encouragement lead to good performance at school.

Tackling conflict is a part of maturation process of each child. When a child is exposed to bullying and violence, it does not only lead to performing poorly in school but also causes anti-social behaviors and anxiety as the child matures. The good news is combating violence at an early stage pays dividend later. Educators need to come up with ways of incorporating conflict mediation and violence reduction in early childhood education.

The education system continues to be very vital for the country because it is through it that we future professionals are molded. It is thus important to safeguard this system by solving the numerous glitches that is facing in order to ensure that it remains relevant.
